The Dallas Morning News Charities funds select North Texas organizations that help those who are homeless, hungry, and able to rehabilitate. As a corporate sponsor, their donations help provide food, clothing, transitional housing, financial assistance and other forms of short-term relief to locals throughout North Texas.

Empty Bowls of denton

Empty Bowls of Denton is a non-profit organization that has been fighting hunger in the Denton community since 2000. Every October, Empty Bowls holds a fundraising luncheon where attendees select a handcrafted artisan bowl of their choice which symbolizes the "Empty" bowls of those without enough to eat.

City of Denton

The City of Denton recognizes the importance of caring for those who are hungry and experiencing homelessness in our community. The City of Denton and Our Daily Bread have collaborated on providing a facility that offers wraparound services for guests.

The service arm of Tide— committed to helping people rebuild their lives after disaster strikes. Working to make sure those affected have the everyday essentials they need, like clean clothes and personal care products, and to bring back a sense of normalcy in times of chaos.

Shiloh Field

Those at Shiloh Field believe no one should go hungry or have to eat food that causes long term problems. Shiloh Field is the largest community garden in America. All of the food is locally grown and ethically sourced because the community grows it.

Founded in 2004, their mission is to liberate the broken from the bondage of sin & addiction through the transforming power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to equip them to become prosperous disciples of Christ with Kingdom vision, purpose, and direction.

Adult Children of alcoholics and family dysfunction

ACA is a 12 Step program that focuses on emotional sobriety. The only requirement for membership is a desire to recover from the effects of growing up in an alcoholic or otherwise dysfunctional family. Meetings are intended to be a safe place to share experience, strength, and hope by offering compassion and understanding.

Goodwill north Central texas

Goodwill offers job training and other services to help people with disabilities and disadvantages achieve their maximum independence. Through Goodwill, job seekers, individuals with special needs, families, and other members of our community gain self-esteem and become independent, self-sufficient citizens.

Denton able Disabled

The Denton Able Disabled group includes people who are homeless, living with mental health and/or physical disability, professors, helping professionals and people who are interested in making a difference. The Able Disabled group engages with our guest through crafts and other activities.
