Additional Information

  • Your trust is important to us. That’s why we never share nor sell donor or volunteer information. Additionally, all electronic payments are securely processed, and our team does not have access to your sensitive financial data.

  • Careful Oversight: Financial responsibilities are divided among staff, board members, and external accounting services.

Smart Spending: Large expenditures follow a competitive bid process to guarantee cost-efficiency.

Real-Time Recordkeeping: We maintain accurate daily financial records using universally accepted accounting software.

Regular Reviews: Our Board of Directors reviews and approves financial reports monthly.

Independent Oversight: An external accounting firm conducts an annual financial audit and prepares our IRS Form 990 for public disclosure.

  • Each year Our Daily Bread undergoes rigorous monitoring by grant funders ensuring we meet the highest standards of operational integrity. A poor review could result in penalties, including the suspension of programs or the return of funds. However, we are proud to say that we have never received a negative monitoring report nor been required to return funds—an achievement that speaks to our unwavering commitment to excellence.

  • Our Daily Bread does not receive funding from federal, state, or county sources. Therefore, our work relies primarily on donations, grants, and community partnerships to sustain our mission.

  • Our Daily Bread is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to serving individuals experiencing homelessness in Denton County. While we are not a City of Denton program or entity, we operate out of a facility owned and renovated by the City of Denton called the Denton Community Shelter. This partnership allows us to provide essential services at a greater scale. All programming, staffing, and operations are managed entirely by Our Daily Bread. We are grateful to also receive grant funding from the City of Denton, currently our only municipal supporter.
