During nights of inclement or severe weather, Our Daily Bread opens our overnight shelter to all.
Summer - Extreme Heat
Our Daily Bread's overnight Inclement Weather Shelter will be open when the National Weather Service (NWS) HeatRisk for Denton City Hall’s address reaches the Red (Major) level or higher.
A decision to open the shelter is usually made by 1:00 p.m. on the day it will be open.
Once a decision is made, updates will be posted on Our Daily Bread's website and social media pages.

What is HeatRisk?
The NWS HeatRisk is a daily index that measures the potential health impacts of heat over a 24-hour period. HeatRisk is determined by several factors, including how unusual the temperatures are for the time of year, the duration of the heat, and both daytime and overnight temperatures.
Our Daily Bread’s overnight Inclement Weather Shelter will open when when temperatures or wind chill fall below 32°F as designated by the National Weather Service
Once a decision is made, updates will be posted on Our Daily Bread's website and social media pages.
