Todd has been homeless for about 25 years of his life. It has been a struggle, but he has managed to get back on his feet several times. Living paycheck to paycheck was especially difficult, as he never knew what tomorrow might look like.

Now, Todd is part of the Ready for Work program at the shelter, which is helping him regain independence and stability. He currently works on a city of Denton crew and is thriving there.

“It feels great to finally be working and getting a paycheck,” Todd said. “I’ve done side jobs here and there to make money, but steady income is such a blessing. It would be nice to acquire full-time employment through the city and get benefits. I’m not getting any younger, so with this I have a really good opportunity to make something of life.
